Hello friends!

Sigh, I'm reading my blog posts back and seeing how hard of a time I had making this blog page. I was so naive. My "Characters" page is really kicking my ass. Back then, (a week ago) it would've gave me a stroke trying to figure it out. Well! Just goes to show how much I've grown in such little time. Yes, I am going to toot my own horn about this. I am so proud of myself! I can go back to being a self-deprecating loser later, right now is the time to celebrate my accomplisment (this website) and reflect on the fun ass weekend I had!
I went out of town over the weekend to visit some family and it was so relaxing and reinvigorating. We got burgers, shopped at a very nice mall, went to a comics store, etcetera. I got lots of cool stuff, too! I didn't realize how much I needed a vacation until I actually had one. Now I can't wait to go back. Probably during winter break after the semester is over! Fingers crossed!
Sorry this blog post is shorter than I meant it to be; I just realized halfway through writing it that I don't really want to anymore! Bye!

Hello friends!

Making a mobile layout for this site is some fresh Hell unlike anyone's ever seen. I've experienced horrors beyond your comprehension, Scoob.
Okay, in all seriousness, I want to make a mobile layout so more people can enjoy my website, but I was an idiot and didn't code this thing with that in mind. I basically have to do the whole thing again, but for phones this time. Ugh! I thought this coding shit was easy! (Sarcasm.)
I'll keep trying. I've made lots of progress, but there's still some things I need to fix (okay, a lot of things). It's pretty much unusable on mobile right now. Please do not load this site on your phone; it'll just embarrass me. I'm NOT showing anyone my code, either. It's so spaghetti it's got an Italian citizenship. This is basically what's holding me back from asking for help, because I'd have to show everyone my code and they're going to undoubtedly throw tomatoes at me and call the police. It works, though. And isn't that what matters? Don't answer that.
I'm just kind of tired and cranky right now because I spent the whole day on my doggone computer making my website more responsive to different monitor sizes. I pretty much did it. It still looks a little janky on some monitor sizes, especially with smaller aspect ratios, but it's still usable and not completely chopped so I'm declaring this a victory. You've gotta draw the line somewhere.
I wanna clarify that I'm still having loads of fun with this website and learning how to code. I'm learning so many new things every day! I've also added a section to my Fun Stuff page with all the resources I used to make this website, and I'll be updating it with every new useful thing I find. I don't know if I've inspired anyone to make their own website yet, but hopefully that changes soon. It doesn't even have to be one of my friends, anyone adding another page to the internet with their own artistic expression is a win to me. I also added my friend Spoon to the Links to Friends section in my Fun Stuff page! Go check out their website! They say it's unfinished at the moment but I still think it's chock-full of awesome stuff. That's where I got the link to the silly early-2000s gifs I use everywhere. In fact, them making a website in the first place is what inspired me to make mine, so big ups to them. I'm eternally grateful to them and my own urge to go along with everything everyone else is doing.

Hello friends!

This bitch blog page was such a pain in the ass to make BUT I DID IT!
I'm now able to code without looking up a tutorial every five seconds; it's so awesome! I have a very basic understanding of what I'm doing and how to fix things when they break. I can physically feel my brain growing to accomodate all the new information I'm learning and it HURTS! (This is a joke.)
I'm planning to create a YouTube video on my website and the resources I used to make it tomorrow. Hopefully by doing this, a few others will be inspired to make their own and undergo the exciting path of becoming a webmaster! I love that term so much. "Webmaster." I sound like a wizard or something. Well, if you think about it, coding is basically magic. We're putting things together that don't even really exist in the real world and making something new out of them; that sounds like magic to me.

On an unrelated note, I am fearing the day NeoCities ceases to exist. Its predecessor, GeoCities, died some time ago. I know, I know. I'm getting scared of something that isn't even going to happen for YEARS. But, I'm always thinking ahead. How do I save these files so I can preserve my website and possibly migrate it in the event of disaster? I'll figure it out. I've figured everything else out, so this should be easy peasy (famous last words).
I hope the indie web lives forever; it's definitely growing now due to people's disillusionment with social media. Unironically, I think the event that kickstarted the whole movement in the current day was Elon Musk buying Twitter. After that, I felt a major shift. People started deleting the app en masse, and then deleting every other app as well. It's good that more people are touching grass, but let's not be too hasty; the internet can also be a great tool and creative outlet. Let's all make our own websites! It's a fun project, you learn new things, and it requires skill! Ugh, how do I beam this message into my friends' brains?

This is the start of my new website! I am so excited!
As stated on my homepage, I had zero coding experience prior to making this website. I'm very proud of what I was able to accomplish while knowing so little about it. I hope to keep updating these pages over the months and years; this website is gonna be my baby whom I never stop taking care of. It's also just fun to blog and share my thoughts. I'm the kind of person who can't keep anything in.
