Fifty-Twenty is the name of my fictional universe and the year all four storylines in this universe begin. It's basically just the real world some-3000 years into the future, long after humanity discovered interstellar travel and started to colonize planets. In this year, all interplanetary societies are in a technological dark age due to the lasting effects of the foregone Artifical War. Additionally, the two races, Sagans and humans, have been locked in a war for the last 100 years.

The Artificial War was started by CCOD (Clara's Compact Oracle Device) about 100 years before the year fifty-twenty. CCOD was created by Clara Doubleday, a computer engineering student, to tell the future. CCOD foretold that a nuclear power plant on a nearby moon would explode, killing thousands. When its prediction didn't come true, it sabotaged the plant and forced the explosion in hopes of pleasing its creator Clara. As foretold, thousands perished. Clara was horrified and disowned CCOD.
This event sparked a war against all artificial intelligence and the subsequent removal of it from every piece of technology. The information (schematics, medical journals, articles, entertainment, etc.) lost as a result of this is equivalent to a billion Libraries of Alexandria.
When removing every artificial intelligence from every piece of technology and returning to a mostly analog society didn't work and CCOD still persisted, trying and failing to get Clara to be proud, humans negotiated with it. It asked for its own planet in the far reaches of the galaxy so that it may live in exile, and its wish was granted. It lives on the planet Automaton, lonely and dreaming.
CCOD is waiting for the opportunity to help all interplanetary societies and end the war between humans and Sagans in an attempt to please Clara (who is long dead in the year fifty-twenty).
CCOD's involvement in the war is a mystery to most humans and Sagans, as its existence has been kept secret by both interplanetary governments.

Sagans are basically humans with animal traits. They were genetically modified to better inhabit and adapt to the conditions of the planets they live on. Humans were introduced to the technology needed to genetically modify themselves thousands of years ago (the year 2029) by exploring the dark side of Earth's moon and finding an ancient alien outpost. It was also here that they were introduced to the pantheon of gods worshipped by the aliens (Cyan, Crises, Dune, Saga, Ogo, Justicar, and Nocturne) and the secrets of interstellar travel. The aliens' origins are unknown and they are long thought to be extinct.

Before the war between humans and Sagans began, they had one unified interplanetary government and coexisted peacefully. However, the two races having children together was (and still is) strictly forbidden, as it was believed that any children with one human parent and one Sagan parent would be severely disfigured and not survive long after birth. Thus, relations between the two races was kept strictly platonic.
The war between the two began right after the Artificial War, and is the result of the then newly formed human government's (The Galactic Federation of Human Persons, or GFHP for short) desire to colonize the planets occupied by the Sagans. They have tried and failed to colonize all Sagan-occupied planets many times during the last 100 years, their forces often spread too thin to retain control. However, with the recent development of the Supermarine project, the human government's new plan is to use Supermarines to remove the Atlases on Sagan-occupied planets and put them back once the Sagans on those planets have perished. This plan is not known to anyone but those closely involved in the Supermarine project.
The war between humans and Sagans has sparked much political upheaval on both sides. Most human citizens are against the war and (rightfully) believe the government's crimes against the Sagans to be unjustly cruel and unnecessary. In the year fifty-twenty, a civil war begins on the Imperial Core (the planet where the GFHP is headquartered) as a result of this.

Rhiannon was enlisted into the Galactic Federation of Human Persons military at age nineteen. Upon her deployment, she was almost immediately put on a mission to trek across a moon called Cobalt in search of a radio capable of calling in reinforcements from many light years away. Zasko Ikeakor was captain of this mission. And as they were taking suppression fire from the enemy, Rhiannon's spine was damaged.
She was paralyzed from the waist down for many months before receiving a prosthetic from the government, as well as many years of physical therapy. Of course, she was medically discharged, but that is not where her service ended. For two decades after that, she lived on an ice planet hunting whales for oil. During that time, she enlisted in a program that allowed veterans to live expense-free so long as they do a job for the government and consent to re-enlistment should the need ever arise (the Soldier Welfare Project). Along comes Zasko once again, who calls her back to help out on a top-secret project known as the Supermarine Project.
Her job would be being a glorified security guard, but an encounter with a reconnaissance drone sent by CCOD (Clara's Compact Oracle Device) exposes her to the project's true nature. The project was created to permanently wipe out their enemy, the Sagans.
Horrified by this revelation, she defects, taking Zasko with her, and they are taken to the planet where CCOD resides (Automaton). Rhiannon then undergoes a strict training regimen and cybernetic modification to become the ultimate super soldier. After three years of enhancing herself and her body, undergoing experimental procedures that shorten her lifespan, her sights are finally set on taking down the Supermarine project. She must eliminate many project officials, working her way up to the project director, Axiomaton Kripke, with the help of CCOD's guidance and Zasko's support.

Supermarines are giant human-controlled robots made to take away Atlases, or skyscraper-sized devices made to hold up artificial atmospheres on planets inhabited by the Sagans, then put the Atlases back after all Sagans have perished.
They cannot destroy the Atlases because the information needed to engineer them was lost long ago in the aftermath of the Artificial War.

Planet Automaton is a metal-rich planet on the far-edge of the galaxy, given to CCOD to appease it and end the Artifical War. The planet is just a bit smaller than Mercury, and is home to an abundance of machinery soley engineered by CCOD with its near-infinite knowledge of almost everything humans and Sagans have ever recorded. The machinery slowly grew and spread over the planet like a fungus until it was completely covered in wires, metallic plates, and two billion androids. Since CCOD is the planet's sole inhabitant, all androids are controlled by it and share a hivemind. Because CCOD is the only thing in the galaxy that retained the knowledge of how to build Atlases, its androids construct a new one just for Automaton's newest human inhabitants: Rhiannon Sojourner Sloan and Zasko Ikeakor.
Somewhere deep within the planet however, near the heart where CCOD's main terminal resides, rests Clara Doubleday. Her corpse is perfectly preserved in a cryogenic chamber until CCOD can find the secret to bringing back the dead.

Loss of a Loved One takes place on Earth after humanity has almost entirely abandoned it in favor of interstellar travel. The people left behind are currently dealing with the effects of a destroyed climate; it's very hot and dry, and there are constant wildfires and dust storms.
Richter is dating Yolanda, who is technically married to Tavoyan and doesn't want to be. Tavoyan eventually takes Yolanda hostage in hopes of luring in Richter and killing him, only for Richter and co. to find Tavoyan already dead at the hands of Yolanda.
After, Richter, his brother Mateo, his friend Texan Clay, and his sister Guadalupe find a bounty poster for a man accused of matricide. Unbeknownst to them, the man is actually an escaped treasonist wanted by the Galactic Federation. But because Earth is neutral territory in the war between Sagans and Humans, it is illegal for Federation officials to go to Earth and kill him themselves. They send Ashkeiser Vain to do it quickly and quietly, but that's when she runs into Richter, Mateo, Texan, and Guadalupe.
They fight back, but Ashkeiser ends up killing Mateo and transmitting Callahan's disease to Richter, trying not to leave any witnesses. Overwhelmed, however, she makes a quick escape.
The rest of the story follows Richter and co. as they grieve the loss of Mateo and try to hunt down Ashkeiser. Richter grapples with his past deeds as he faces certain death. In a final confrontation between him and Ashkeiser, he dies. Yolanda then takes his place and avenges his death soon after.

"Richter and co." refers to Richter's found family, which is a gang of criminals founded and led by Madds Maxwell. Current members are:

Everyone is very close. They live on a large homestead together and each have their own role in its upkeep. Texan is the gang's newest member, having only been there for a few months as of the year fifty-twenty. She's not exactly considered a full member yet, as everyone has to get to know her better first.
As mentioned previously, they are criminals. Due to the dire conditions on Earth, everyone must steal and sometimes murder to survive. Richter is the most egregious offender, and it's the source of all his guilt.

Discovered by Dr. Darius D. Callahan shortly before the year fifty-twenty, Callahan's disease is a flesh-eating bacteria that is resistant to every known antibiotic. It can only spread through bodily fluids, like saliva, blood, or semen. Upon being infected, victims often only have weeks or months left to live as their skin, muscles, and other bodily tissues are slowly consumed. Their deaths are painful and gruesome.
As of the current year, it's not considered an epidemic due to its low infection rate.

In the year fifty-twenty, Crises (the goddess of war) is exiled by the evil God King to an ice planet called Boreas after beheading the god of the apocalypse, Dezeredd.
Prior to her exile, she told by the prophetic Henry the Snow Pile that she will have a son and he is destined to kill the God King.
She meets David Dean Burkhardt on Boreas, falls in love, and has a son as was foretold--Atronikus, the first and only demigod.
David gets turned to stone by the God King sixteen years later, after the King finds out what Crises has been doing, and thus ensues Crises and Atronikus' adventure.
Crises and Atronikus have to travel to the other side of the planet where Cyan and Dune (god of dreams and goddess of love respectively) will open a portal to Verdis, land of the gods, so Crises and Atronikus can slay the God King and free the universe from his tyranny.
Cyan and Dune communicate to Atronikus via his dreams because the God King is aware of all things in the material universe (dreams take place outside the universe), and through his dreams, gift him an armor that can withstand anything.
It is in dreams that Cyan and Dune also plot and scheme. Since gods do not need to sleep, they use other people's dreams as a medium of communication. Seeing them in a dream then becomes a phenomenon across the galaxy, with many reporting sighting two strange figures in the background of their dreams and sometimes nightmares. During Crises and Atronikus' adventure, there is a subplot as Cyan and Dune try to open the portal. They have to free their sister Justicar from the Unbeaten Heart (an ice prison at the bottom of the universe) and use her magic sword to do so.

Since the God King is omnipotent and aware of all things in the material universe, Cyan and Dune have to think of clever ways to go about helping their sister Crises and nephew Atronikus get to Verdis (the realm of the gods) so they can slay the King. Since dreams take place outside of the material universe and the God King is unaware of what goes on in the dream realm, Cyan and Dune use Atronikus' dreams to communicate with him and Crises. Because Atronikus is the only demigod and has so far aged like a normal Sagan, they are unsure if he possesses the full invulnerability of a god. Therefore, he needs an armor to protect himself on he and his mom's perilous journey to Boreas' north pole.
Dune, as god of dreams, possesses the power to make dreams into reality. Cyan takes it upon herself to seduce a Sagan woman named Valean in her dreams over a period of many nights, and asks her to dream of an armor that can withstand anything. Finally, Valean dreams of Atronikus' armor, and Dune plucks it from her dream. Atronikus wakes up the next morning wearing it. The God King is none the wiser.

The original Order of the Greater Universe was a parliament of Higher Beings who came together to separate the universe into sectors and districts so all mortals can have a distinct god and court to answer to, essentially making it clear that the universe was being puppeteered by powers greater than them. Ligerkracken and his brother, Iden, hated this idea and preferred to leave the mortals unsure of which higher power they fell under, if they even believed in one at all. He and Iden wanted to observe the mortals like ants in a jar, untouched and unafraid of divine judgment. So, they both overtook the Order and defeated them.
Hungry for power and wanting to be the sole ruler of the universe, Ligerkracken then killed his brother via decapitation, and the blood of Iden pooled into the tar pit. Nocturne, the goddess of death, emerged from the pit soon after. She took Iden's soul, and by request from the King, imprisoned it in the Unbeaten Heart, where he was the sole inhabitant (later accompanied by Justicar). The Unbeaten Heart is a pocket of ice buried beneath the universe.
The rest of the New Pantheon (also known as the Second Order of the Greater Universe--which includes Cyan, Dune, Justicar, Saga, Crises, and Ogo) emerged from the tar pit shortly afterwards. As of the year fifty-twenty, they are the only Higher Beings alive, followed by Atronikus. Godsworn beings like the Neversurfer and Henry the Snow Pile are infused with Higher Power by Higher Beings, but cannot create it, infuse others with it, and do not possess the power of those in the Second Order, save for immortality.
Higher Beings possess the power to change their appearance however they want and can only be killed by other Higher Beings.

Black Mold Foreversoon takes place in the modern world.
Best friends since second grade, Arturo and Archie are clowns in a band together. Arturo works in a smoothie shop owned and managed by the eccentric Dean Lovelace, plays the drums, and is an exceptional artist with dreams of going to art school. Archie is unemployed, living with his adoptive rich parents and two sisters, and loves farting around on the computer, streaming video games, writing songs, playing the guitar, and being an influencer. Archie genuinely believes their band, Black Mold, can be successful, while Arturo mainly focuses on work and just treats the band as a hobby.
There are some rifts in the boys' friendship due to their different economic statuses and Archie's overall tone deafness regarding his privileged lifestyle, often complaining about things Arturo finds frivolous. Archie's life is a point of jealousy for Arturo, and he often wishes his own family had more money so he wouldn't have to work so hard to help support them. Archie, on the other hand, is jealous of Arturo because his own parents consider Arturo to be the ideal son, hardworking and considerate with goals and aspirations outside of the band, while looking down on Archie because of his aimlessness. But even with these rifts, the boys just choose not to talk about these topics and instead brush everything under the rug, still managing to have a deep and fulfilling friendship despite their differences and jealousy towards one another.
One night, while Arturo is over at Archie's house for dinner, Archie's parents offer him Archie's university funds due to their son's refusal to go. Arturo initially refuses.
A few days later, while Arturo is working, Dean overhears the boys talking about their band and offers to manage them. The boys oblige, even considering Dean's questionable past. Dean books them a few shows in town while they prepare for a small tour throughout the state of Texas, but the band life proves to be too much for Arturo and Archie, because several arguments between the two take place after their performances. Arturo feels the band is taking away from his own goals, and Archie is upset by this because he feels he cannot have a band or successful career in music without Arturo.
After a particularly damaging argument in which the two of them bring up their jealousy towards one another and Arturo confesses his feelings for Archie, the two break apart. Arturo changes his mind and accepts the money Archie's parents had offered him, going off to art school soon after. The boys do not speak for several months, up until Arturo comes back to visit for Christmas at the end of his first semester.
The boys apologize to one another and make up. Arturo confesses his feelings again, and Archie enthusiastically reciprocates. Archie supports Arturo's dreams wholeheartedly, and says the band isn't as important as their friendship. Arturo offers to jam together and make a new song, and Archie obliges.
